Sydney girl Miranda rocked up in Erinsborough with her whole family, abed one, her adoptive son Riley who soon followed suit, looking to put down new roots. And it didn't take long before brother in law Ned offered them shelter in his Ramsay Street home.
Miranda evidentially loves her family dearly and would to pretty much anything for them. However she often feels sidelined when daughter Bridget and husband Steve bond over animals and sport amongst other things. Finding it often hard to understand her daughter's persona, of which is quite the opposite. With son Riley proving to more laid back, Miranda also tends to find fault with his general approach to life. Her bond with husband Steve is however somewhat different, with the two of sharing the same family values. Although Steve's impetuous nature can sometimes prove to Miranda's annoyance.
Despite her family life, Miranda has also managed to make a good friend of next door neighbour Susan Kinski. Although their friendship soon broke to an extent whenever Susan accidentally hit Bridget out on the road, leaving her daughter paralysed down one side of her body. At first Miranda was unforgiving and didn't want anything to do with her, but she soon came round to forgiving her and the two of them soon rekindled their somewhat stretched friendship.
