Susan Kinski

Susan Kennedy/Smith/Kinski (played by Jackie Woodburne)

Susan Kinski is a teacher at Erinsborugh high where she is acting principle whenever called for. She was even principle for a time. She lives at number 28 with her 3 stepchildren Katya, Rachel and Zeke Kinski. She has 3 children from her first marriage to Karl Kennedy - Malcolm, Libbby and Billy. She is grandmother to Ben, Libby and Drew's young son. Susan has recently become a widow after her second husband Alex tragically passed away on their wedding night as he was suffering from incurable cancer.

When the family moved to Ramsay street Karl and Susan were a happily married couple but all this came to an abrupt end when Susan took a teaching post in the country and came back to find Karl had had " a thing" with his secretary Sarah Beaumont – after an infamous slap she threw him out only to take him back a short while later. Things looked like they were looking up until she had a freak accident which caused amnesia, leaving Susan thinking she was 16 years old. She didn't know Karl or her children, and she even tracked down an old teenage love. She gave up her job and it looked like the Kennedy marriage was over forever until her memory began to return gradually. They were reunited and even renewed their vows.

Karl left Susan a year later and moved in with Izzy who claimed she was pregnant by Karl. Susan was devastated. Susan tried to get on with her life by getting together with Tom Scully, Lynn's brother in law who was a priest, but things didn't work out because of devotion to god. She went on to have a brief fling in 2005, with Max's dad Bobby Hoyland until she found out that he was also seeing Lynn Scully and Janelle Timmins at the same time!

Most recently, she fell in love with one of the parents that she met at the school, Alex Kinski. Their romance was just getting off the ground when, out of the blue, he proposed to her. Susan accepted and they were blissfully happy until Alex was diagnosed with an incurable cancer and had only a matter of months left to live. Tragically Alex died passed away on the night of their wedding leaving her to look after his 2 teenage children and his older daughter, Katya, who had just returned into Alex's life hours before he passed away.

Susan has also been a surrogate mother to many of the children of Ramsay Street over the years and even took some of them into her home these have included Toadie, Tad, Stingray, Dylan and Sindi. Index > Character Profiles > Susan Kinski
