Janae considers Boyd's proposal before coming to a painful decision. Karl and Jenny's commitment is put to the test. Connor makes a shocking discovery about missing Carmella.

Scully/Timmins
Janae tells Boyd how it is too out of the blue they are not even a couple now. She tells him that it is just all about what he wants but he tells her that isn't the case and tells her that he loves her. She asks him if she can have time to think about it and he says that if she "really has to", he gives her the ring and tells her that he brought it for her he asks her to please say yes after she has had time to think about it.

Karl's apartment
Jenny comes in an hour late for tea, Karl is annoyed as the tea is burned but she says that she has to canvas for pre-selection if she wants any sort of a chance, Karl tells her that he is starting to feel surplus to requirements but just as he is saying this her phone rings and she has to take the call.

Hoylands
Max tells Boyd that Karl came over to tell him that he had sold the watch he asks if Boyd was having Karl on but Boyd says that he seriously has sold the watch and in it's place he has brought an engagement ring for Janae. Max and Steph are shocked.

Susan's
Janae asks if she can have a word with Susan, then asked her about her and Karl being teenaged sweethearts she tells Susan that Boyd has proposed and shows her the ring. Susan does say that she and Karl were a few years older than her when they got engaged but says that she doesn't regret it for a second as they had many happy years together. Susan points out that Boyd has ambition though and wants to specialise which will mean many years at uni and even when he is working it will be very long hours which will take its toll on a marriage, but she says only Janae will know if their love is strong enough to survive it.

General store
Conner tells Misca that he eats for free at the store but she says not any more Lou asks him to pay and says that he will sort things out later on but neither Conner or Ned have any money on them so Misca gets them doing the washing up. Conner tells Ned that he has accepted the job from Carmella's mom and has asked for Stu's help and all that got back was a parking ticket that she was issued a few months ago.

Hoylands
Boyd tells Max that he is serious about marrying Janae but Max reminds him that he thought he was serious about the gym and about being with Kayla and playing daddy with Ashleigh so he points out that he doesn't actually know what he wants, he tells Boyd to go and see Janae and get the ring back as he isn't going to stand there and watch him making a huge mistake. Boyd says that it is his decision to make and he knows that he is doing the right thing.

Commercials

General store
Lou asks Harold how long the cravings for nicotine usually last but Harold tells him that in some cases it can last for years. Harold looks horrified.

Karl's apartment
Karl tells Jenny that she has got to hurry up as he has a gig on at Scarlet bar but she says that she had forgotten all about it. She asks if he minds her staying at home as she needs to be focused for tomorrow, he tries not to act disappointed but she sees straight through it and tells him to give her 5 minutes to get ready.

Scully/Timmins *dream sequence
Boyd enters in a comical doctors outfit he has just finished an 18-hour shift but says that he is needed at work so is going back there. Janae tells him that their triplets need him too but he says he is too busy saving lives he leaves for work, Janae stares at her engagement ring.

Scully/Timmins *Reality
Janae is lying on the settee staring at her engagement ring she them gives a big sigh and removes it from her finger.

Scarlet bar
Jenny and Karl go over to join Susan, Karl goes to get the drinks and sees Max who tells him that Boyd did indeed sell the ring and all the money from it has gone as he brought Janae an engagement ring with it, Karl cannot believe what he is hearing.
Conner is on the phone enquiring about Carmilla a moody Karl rushes him and Ned to get ready to go on stage. Ned says to Conner that now is a bad time to tell Karl about their decision.

Hoylands
Boyd tells Steph that he would never have proposed unless he was 100% sure and he wishes that his dad were happy for him. Steph points out that Max might disapprove because of Janae's desire to settle down but Boyd points out that is wrong she hasn't even given him an answer yet. Steph is surprised and says that she thought Janae would have jumped at the chance. Steph tells him that she personally doesn't have a problem with marrying young as longs as it is for the right reasons.

Scarlet bar
Karl is singing "Jenny time" he gets a round of applause when finishing but Susan has to wake Jenny up, Karl is annoyed with her but she tells him that it is nothing to do with his music she is just tired and should have stayed at home.
Ned and Conner discuss why they need to get rid of Karl – because he gets all the girls interested in him they decide they will break the news to him tomorrow.
Steph comes in and happily tells Max that Janae has not accepted Boyd's proposal yet. He is relieved.

Commercials

Scully/Timmins
Max tells Janae that he wants to clear the air with her and says how pleased he is that she is mature enough to take time to think things over. He points out that Boyd easily gets carried away and that he is glad one of them has the sense to keep their feet on the ground. She tells him that he never liked her but he says that is not true it is nothing personal he just doesn't want to see Boyd getting married to anyone yet. Janae tells Max that being married to her wouldn't stop him doing any of the things that he has planned. She then says that she will only say yes if it is what they both want but points out that he doesn't have a say in it.

Karl's apartment
Jenny asks Karl if he is upset with her, he asks her if she can blame him. She points out that it is her career and everything that she has ever wanted but with him his band is nothing but a hobby. She points out that they both seem to want different things from life she wants work to be her life and he wants to slow down but she says that if they have a problem then they need to talk about it.

Scarlet bar
Ned and Conner are telling Susan that she knows Karl better than anyone so would know how to let him down gently, but she says that they are both cowards. Ned asks her if she will please do it for them but she says that she is not going to do their dirty work for them and tells them how devastated Karl will be she also asks if it is really necessary, as everyone seemed to love him at the gig. Conner receives a phone call from the police officer that issued Camilla with her parking ticket; she never paid it and sold her car.

General store (outside)
Misca asks Susan if she has a cigarette for her but Susan says that she doesn't smoke, but Misca tries to grab her bag saying that people always tell lies about smoking. Susan says that she certainly isn't lying and walks away Misca apologises but then runs after her bag again saying that she can smell smoke on her. Susan tells her that she should go and get help from a professional. Misca spots a disregarded cigarette end and helps herself to it.

General store
Lou asks Harold to come back to work at the store and says that if Misca continues they are going to go under again after much persuasion Harold agrees. Misca enters and Lou tells her that with her working there it makes him feel less of a man as he should be able to keep his woman she offers to leave and they cuddle but he smells cigarettes on her and knows that she has been smoking although she says it was just the one.

Commercials

Ramsay Street
Conner is leaving to go and follow up some leads that he has on Carmilla, Ned wishes him luck. Karl comes over and asks them if they are going to come and rehearse but Conner explains he has got to go away to work on a case then he leaves Ned tells him not right now and walks away, Karl then sees Susan who says that she enjoyed his performance last night. Karl talks about how busy Jenny is and says that he is worried that they have problems as he wanted a calm life but she wants to get into parliament.
Max sees Janae walking up the street she tells him that he will be happy with her decision and walks past him to go into the Hoylands, but she still seems undecided.
